I planned to hit publish on the 11s — because elevenses + Eleven — but thought, too cheesy.

Thankfully my nerd senses prevailed and here we now find ourselves at 11:11 on 11-11! Might as well make a wish.

Playing with my food again to kip up excitement for a quick Weekly Suppers meal… which I see now is a Lincoln Log-esque stack of soy-bathed tofu elevens… entirely unintentional. Really.

Anywho, ribbons of red cabbage + julienned carrots tossed in a vinaigrette of sorts with sesame oil, soy, fresh ginger, lime, Sambal Oelek + a bit of honey. The pan-crisped tofu batons (tempeh would be a nice alternative) were a warm contrast to the cold veg. A small handful of fresh mint + basil to finish. Easy, vibrantly colorednom.

What are you up to this weekend? This afternoon, stair work + Badgers, and finishing our brewing, all while oxtails braise in red wine for boeuf Bourguignon over horseradish mashed cauliflower.       Autumn wonderland up there! We cooled off and have a drizzly rain right now, but still nothing like home. I’ll take what we can get, though, and this is quite pleasant. You think Lily wouldn’t be afraid of the water? Feel like our kitties would be petrified and glued to our legs… not that we’d ever take them on a boat in the first place, ha! The beef (oxtail) bourguignon was amazing. I was vetoed on the cauliflower mash in favor of oven-steamed brown rice, and it was a very good match. Red wine, too, of course!
